New HomeBefore classes for Autumn 2018 even began (excluding Early Fall Start) I started my college journey by rushing a sorority. I couldn't have been happier to receive a bid from Delta Gamma. I am so thankful for the friends Delta Gamma has given me. This support has been crucial to my transition to college.
4 Year Plan
Assignment #2 for Honors 100 really stressed me out. I hadn't even been on campus for a month as a freshman and I faced the challenge of creating a plan for the next 4 years. Although it was overwhelming at first, I am very glad I did it. This assignment forced me to think ahead and get a little idea of what classes I want to take and how to make sure I meet all my requirements. I enjoyed going through MyPlan to see all the interesting courses. After completing Assignment #2 I felt more prepared to take full advantage of time time here at UW.
Junior Panhellenic
In high school I did my best to develop my leadership skills and get involved. I served on student government and as president of the following three clubs: National Honor Society, Junior Classical League, and Political Discussion Club. I wanted to continue this involvement in college so I applied to represent my sorority as a Junior Panhellenic delegate. I am honored to be a delegate and can't wait for this opportunity. I believe the biggest problem facing the Greek community is the stigma and disconnect from the general population. I am excited to work on issues that I am passionate about and continue pursuing leadership opportunities.

Political Science Major
On October 18th I received an email congratulating me on my admission to the Political Science major. After taking AP U.S. History, AP American Government, and AP Comparative Politics, I knew I had a passion for politics and government. Active citizenship is one of my core values. This major encapsulates so many of my interests and I was thrilled to take upper level classes for Winter Quarter.
Midterms Round 1
The Quarter system moves so quickly. Before I knew it Midterm Season had arrived. I was extremely nervous. My two midterms, LSJ 200 and POLS 203, were only two days apart so I spent the weekend before studying for both. Studying was a lot different in high school because the learning style is so different. Before I never really studied much for exams, much less with other students. Our hands were held more by our teachers and there was far less material. For LSJ 200, I had a study group. I am lucky to have 9 girls from my houses taking that course with me. For POL S, another girl in my house and I studied together. I am proud of the grade I received on my LSJ Midterm, but I was not thrilled about POL S. Midterms woke me up and helped me get back on track with school work.

My First College Paper
This essay was my first big college assignment. I love writing, but I was nervous because my senior year of high school I didn't take a traditional language arts course. I was perplexed by what a philosophy paper entailed. I am so accustomed to writing under a rigid structure. My First Inquiry Paper for HONORS 205 gave me a chance to explore and go outside the box.
InitiationOn November 18th, I officially became a member of Delta Gamma. If you asked me a few years ago or even a few weeks ago I would have never imagined being in a sorority and absolutely loving it. I grew a lot from Bid Day to Initiation. Girls that were strangers to me are now my sisters. I am amazed by how fast this quarter is going by. I am truly proud to wear my letters. I can't wait for the next four years.
