Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program (SEP)
If you read my entries from last quarter you'll know that the Office of Merit Scholarships, Fellowships, and Awards played an important role in helping me think more about the future. Not only am I looking ahead again, but I can even say that I am excited for what the future hold. After rediscovering my interest for international relations I decided to apply to the Charles B. Rangel SEP. The following is my personal statement:
Chapman University's Pre-Law Winter Institute
This quarter I participated in the Chapman University 's Pre-Law Winter Institute. I applied to learn more about the process and interact with peers like me. The Institute reaffirmed that I am not prepared to commit to law school. Although open to folx at any point in the law school application process, this Institute is most helpful for those committed to attend law school. Despite being in the exploratory phase, I gained valuable information that I will keep with me. For example, I found the cover letter and resume workshop very informative. Below you can see the "Action Verbs" handout.
Husky Leadership Certificate (HLC)
Being part of the Husky Leadership Certificate this quarter has been a transformative experience for me thus far. I feel more fulfilled having reflected so much on my time, and specifically leadership roles, as an undergraduate. Although we are only enrolled in LEAD 495 for Winter 2021, I look forward to continuing to develop my e-portfolio ahead of final presentations in Spring. I know I will take the lessons I've learned (selecting core values, identifying my "why",) into every opportunity I purse.
